Its a single player storyline based game, and this time features a drivable batmobile. There is a new addition to the fighting arsenal that Batman has and thats called Fear Takedown. This gives batman the ability to subdue up to 3 enemies in Max Payne style slow motion. Batman has to remain undetected between the takedowns to keep it activated. Third in the series, The Witcher 3 is an action role playing game set in a huge open environment. Its been developed by Polish video game developer CD Projekt RED, and is set for release on Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC on May 19th 2015. The game is set in a world first imagined by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski in his series of fantasy novels. The gameplay arena is more than 30 times larger than the previous games, with travel between places possible on horseback, and sailboats. Its been described as 20% bigger than Skyrim.
The developers have commented that there is approximately 100 hours of gameplay to complete Witcher 3. Half of the time would see you on side quests, and the other half would see you following through the main game storyline. There is a dynamic environment with day and night systems having an impact on characters and settings throughout the game, with werewolves gaining powers during a full moon. The main character Geralt will also grow a beard as he travels between regions. There are some new ideas published in the game too such as witcher sense, combat on horseback, and swimming underwater.
Following on from The Witcher 2, the ones who sought out to use Geralt are now gone, and our hero is ona personal mission. While the world order is coming to a change, a mysterious and otherworldly army known locally as the Wild Hunt has invaded the Northern Kingdoms, leaving behind them a mass of blood and fiery ruin of landscape. As the Witcher, you are responsible for stopping this bloody rampage.
Scheduled for release first in 2014, and now pushed back to September 2015, Mad Max is a post apocalyptic adventure game with a mix of vehicular combat involved. Its developed by Avalanche Studios, and features the main character travelling the game world filled with canyons, caves and deserts, in a bid to find his treasured vehicle the Interceptor. Along the way Max teams up with a deformed mechanic known as Chumbucket, and they ride the Magnum Opus around the barren wasteland.
The gameplay for Madmax is a mix of third person perspective single player navigation, and first person perspective when Max is driving the Magnum Opus. He has a variety of weapons he can choose to fight his enemies with including the trusty shotgun. There is also the thunderstick which is an explosive weapon that he launches into opponents chest to blow them up. Weapons such as flamethrowers and mounted cannons can be added to the Magnum Opus to give you more power on the open roads, and you can upgrade the car from scavenged materials that you find along the way. You can even add spikes to the vehicle to stop enemies jumping onto it. Players have access to Max’s garage which is a screen mode where you can perform upgrades and changes to the vehicle. Certain changes affect other performance aspects, such as upgrading the engine, makes it harder to handle.
Like the movie’s Mad Max is set in deserted wasteland. There are several regions to explore and each contains their own backstory. There are unique landmarks and ruins in all regions of the game that can be explored for supplies and clues to missions. There are historical relics, and collectables that Max can find to give him a better glimpse into the game world. Throughout the game Max can venture into an unmapped area called the Big Nothing. This area contains rare and special parts for the Magnum Opus, but is scarce of food and water. There is a dynamic day and night environment featured in the game too.
Metal Gear Solid V The Phantom Pain
This is a continuation of the narrative first set out in Ground Zeroes, that takes place in 1984, and sets the player known as Venom Snake in a massive open world environment to extract revenge on enemy forces for destroying his platoon and nearly himself in the previous game. The game has been developed by Kojima Productions, and has been several years in the making with a trailer for the game first shown in December 2012. The game features vehicles such as tanks and cars, and real world climbing abilities if you want to scale a rock face and skip the normal direction of a map.
The new Metal Gear Solid environment features a true open world experience. The size of the map is 200X that of Ground Zeroes, and will feature more sneaking method, and varieties off travel as you make your way around the environment. The game features a real time day and night feature which means as you progress through the game different missions will face you with alternating challenges depending on what time of the day you conduct them in. The AI throughout the game has been redeveloped, with soldiers and fighters responding to how Snake uses his weapons set. If for example you use sniper rifle’s and headshots, soldiers can be seen to start using helmets to minimise their death rate. The game design direction allows you to play out the missions in any order, and still understand the angle of the gameplay.
Snake can call upon the help of commandoes to scout out certain areas in advance. There is also help in the form of Ai companions such as Quiet. A female character who is a soldier with supernatural capabilities. There is also a horse with a customizable saddle bag to help you carry different amounts of equipment on the field, and you can also be joined by DD, a trained wolf that assists you on the battle field. The way that each of these Ai characters helps you depends on how you develop your relationship with them throughout the game. The base building feature has also been given a revamp, with your ability now to be able to recruit enemy soldiers and prisoners to help with your missions. Weapons and items are developed from the home base, and the money for the Mother Base’s defenses can be obtained from diamond’s and shipping containers presented in various places across the map.
