For the swimmers now taking up the sport for fitness and recreation, there isn’t many gadgets that have revolutionized the sector due to the amount of water involved. One such gadget to buck the trend is the Finis Neptune. Its what you always wanted while swimming, its an underwater MP3 player. The Finis Neptune takes a different approach, and instead uses bone conduction technology to transmit the music inside your head.
It works by using the bones in your check to transmit the music through, and direct to your ear drum. This gives you the ability to hear the music as if its playing inside your head, and still have the ability to hear what is going on around you in the pool. The Neptune straps onto your goggles, and has the player device clip on to the back. You can easily reach to the back of your head and skip track or move backward, pause, or stop. Its also easy to connect the Neptune upto your computer, as it uses gold connectors which don’t corrode with water, and then just select the songs you want and transfer to the device. There are 4GB of storage on the device so you can store roughly 1000 tracks, and you also get around 8 hours charge on the battery, which is more than enough for any number of laps you plan to do.
